The history behind the man & woman who created GFG
Directors Stephen and Debbie Briggs, owners of GFG have over 70 years’ experience in the food industry between them, which includes procuring the best quality gourmet food, specialist and national products.
In the 1990’s the Briggs’ led the market in seasonal food gifts for major retailers including BHS, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Avon and Disney.
For a number of years, the Briggs’ were responsible for supplying the British Army during periods of conflict and supplied 11 of 23 new products for the hot climate ration pack introduced in 2006. They were also responsible for founding and funding the highly successful charity uk4u-Thanks in 2004/5 that produced and supplied Christmas gift boxes to our troops. The charity still exists today and continues to support our troops abroad.
They have always had a sense of ‘the next big thing’ and were one of the first suppliers of balsamic vinegar to the UK as well as the first UK distributor of the Yankee Candles. They continue to be ahead of the curve and for the last few years have supplied traditional Danish food to ex-pat Danes living in the UK as well as a varied range of specialist foods through their website and mail-order. The Danish foods project led directly to the creation of the B2B and B2C platforms; GalleriaByGFG, TradeByGFG, WholesaleByGFG and UnitasByGFG which continue to grow each day.
